Pantai Cenang (in Bahasa Malaysia) is a well known beach at Langkawi. Literrally as Cenang Beach (in English), situated about 20km from Kuah town, and about 3km from Langkawi airport.
This beautiful beach is a combination of relaxing beach ambiance and modern comforts, the beach is lined with a number of resorts, luxury class hotels, chalets and restaurants and about 2km long.
It features with fine sands, crystal clear waters, elegant casuarinas and lofty coconut trees. During a low tide, it's the right beach to take a stroll down the beach while taking a look of the local aquatic creatures and collecting exotic seashells. Instead of being an ordinary beach, this place will surprise you in many aspects. First of all, undoubtedly, will be the fantastic scenery – what really make the first impression of the beach will be the long stretch of milky white sandy beach with swaying coconut trees inline with the rhythm of waves, the sea in shades of blue, turquoise and green.
A lot of activities can be done at Pantai Cenang. Others than swimming at the beach, for those who are adventurous, sunbathing might not sound as interesting as the various water sports available. There are a few huts along the Pantai Cenang, offering activities such as jet skiing, banana boat, parasailing, kayak and even snorkeling and diving sessions. Prices for all these activities are almost similar but negotiable.
