Langkawi Cable Car
Located at Oriental Village, the foot of Gunung Machinchang (Mount Machinchang or Mat Chincang), Langkawi cable car is the latest attraction place at Langkawi. It is about 30-minute drive from Kuah Town and only 15-minute from Langkawi International Airport.
From the cable car, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the historical, natural and other distinct places of interest. Its three different stations are located at different altitudes.
You can see beautiful rainforests below and the cascading waters of Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls at the side. After approx. 600 meters above sea level, the cable-car reaches the middle station, where you can either take another cable car to reach the peak, or check out the beautiful surroundings from the observatory deck. People usually don't spend much time here, since the view from the peak is absolutely stunning.
The cable car ride up the hill takes about 20 minutes and is highly exhilarating. It's a very educational and thrilling experience for the whole family. There are various activities one can do here like trekking from station to station, exploring the entire top station and there are also stalls selling snacks, drinks and souvenirs. Toilets are available too. From the top station, you can access the curve hanging bridge which offers additional views of the island at a height of 708 meters above sea level. On a clear day, you can see parts of Thailand towards the north and Indonesia towards the south-west.
Langkawi Cable Car is absolutely one of the must-visit places when you are on holiday in Langkawi Island
